30,000 tickets sold for Morgan Wallen concert in Mobile, according to event organizer | News

MOBILE, ALA. (WALA) – Tens of thousands of country music fans are heading to the fairgrounds on Friday night for the Morgan Wallen concert.

“Nothing like an event you’ve never been to at the fairgrounds,” said Nathan Baugh, producer of 46 Entertainment Event.

Thirty thousand tickets were sold for Wallen’s concert at the West Mobile lot, but the lot only has 9,000 parking spaces.

Baugh said, “Obviously this will be one of the biggest shows Mobile has ever put on in the last few years. We could have probably sold 100,000, to be honest. The demand is so high, it’s insane to Morgan. . “

The parking lot cards on the lot have run out and many ticket holders are wondering where they are going to park.

Baugh said in addition to the 9,000 spaces sold on the lot, a nearby land owner is opening about 14 acres for parking for a fee of $ 20.

Baugh said: “I would compare that to an event at Ladd Peeble’s Stadium. When we went to the Senior Bowl at Ladd you parked everywhere in front of people and stuff like that. So there will be a lot of that too. Like the 8,000. to 9,000 spots that we already had. “

Baugh said ticket holders will receive a parking pass on Wednesday, but getting there early will be key.

“We open the parking lot from noon Friday, with doors opening at three o’clock. It will take a minute to enter like any large-scale show or college football game. If you don’t have a parking pass , we’re just asking, especially if you drink, to consider carpooling or dropping off. “

Mobile police and mobile firefighters will lead the charge on traffic control and security.

“So obviously the safety of the event, especially in light of what just happened in Houston, is extremely important to everyone, but we think we have the right teams in place to make this event sure, ”Baugh said.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office told FOX10 News that MPs were not asked to help, but if they are, they will assess the request and do what is best to protect Mobile.
