A Chinese and locally managed company named Five Star Elevator Manufacturing Private Limited Company (PLC) has announced that it has officially joined the Ethiopian entertainment industry with an event held at the Hilton Hotel in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

The company, through its subsidiary Five Star Entertainment Company, began its journey at the end of August 2022, presenting a major event named “Afro Vision Fashion Show” featuring contemporary dance, fashion show and musical performance in the presence of diplomats, Ethiopian government officials. , and local artists.

Nardos Nigussie, 20, is a model and one of the many dancers trained by the Five Star Entertainment Company.

“The company has provided the much-needed platform where passionate young Ethiopians like me can showcase their talents to promote Ethiopian culture,” Nigussie said in a recent interview with Xinhua.

With state-of-the-art equipment, the company has already formed its own musical group, two dance groups called Iconic Divas and Royal Flash, and a team of idol trainees with the aim of reaching more audiences across Africa and beyond.

“We are offered a series of dance, vocalization and acting training courses for free,” Nigussie said, appreciating the company’s commitment to helping those who need it show off their talents but don’t. haven’t done due to financial constraints.

Expressing gratitude to the company for providing training and employment opportunities, Nigussie said the dance group generally promotes peace and culture through several types of events such as fashion shows and performances. musical.

Helina Yetemegn is another member of the dance group Iconic Divas. She is one of 50 dancers who have taken advantage of dance lessons offered by the Five Star Entertainment Company.

“The company has helped me perform on international stages and learn multiple skills,” Yetemegn said.

Company owner and general manager Ma Ning told Xinhua that his company aims to gain popularity by giving young people the opportunity to showcase their talents.

“We want to promote their (young people’s) talents, enthusiasm and potential, which otherwise might be wasted due to different challenges,” Ma said.

Ma went on to say that there is a shortage of training schools in the East African country and this is preventing young people from cultivating their talents and joining the entertainment industry.

“I seek economic returns by promoting Ethiopian culture, tourism and historic places through artistic and musical performances,” said Ma, who is committed to opening training schools to train and help young people achieve their dreams. to become famous artists.

Ma thinks there is a dearth of national and international stages where potential young Ethiopians can showcase their talents.

Michael Million, one of Ethiopia’s most famous entertainers, said he was so inspired that a Chinese company joined Ethiopia’s national entertainment industry through which the company tries to promote its manufactures.

“The company has well understood the power of art to promote its products and gain public trust,” said Million, who spent some time in Beijing, the Chinese capital, to produce a documentary.

Million believes that the company will contribute a lot not only to the development of the industry, but also to providing much-needed platforms where young Ethiopians can showcase their talents on international stages.

“Unlike Westerners, the Chinese believe in working and growing together,” Million said, noting that Asian culture is closer to African.
