Event Marketing Association and Virtual Events Institute confirm their partnership

The Virtual Events Institute and the Event Marketing Association (EMA) have announced a strategic partnership. The partnership will see organizations share their knowledge and best practices on online and hybrid events for organizations, including case studies, speaking opportunities and workshops.

The EMA, which is the UK’s exclusive association for in-house event professionals, was founded in 2013 as a not-for-profit organization, overseen by a board of members and has grown into a community of over 1400 members across the UK, with educational events and workshops. The association sits on the Corporate Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP). The Virtual Events Institute was established in June 2020 to help event professionals and marketers meet their knowledge and training needs about virtual and hybrid events.

Speaking about the partnership, EMA Chairman Richard Waddington said members were hungry for more information in what he described as a “rapidly changing landscape”.

“Our members are hungry for information, ideas and education on all aspects of virtual and hybrid events,” he said. “This partnership is key to helping them get access to the resources they need at this important time for the entire events industry.”

Virtual Events Institute CEO Sophie Ahmed added, “Corporate event professionals are an important part of the event landscape and the Virtual Events Institute is focused on providing the skills and expertise needed for help organize effective virtual and hybrid events. Our e-learning tools and certification will help in-house event professionals take full advantage of the opportunities of virtual events and we are proud and excited to work with EMA and its members.
