Event marketing company transfers experience to save lives

American event marketing firm Hamilton has been recognized by the Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) with an EDDIE Award, in part for its efforts to create a platform capable of delivering more than 200,000 vaccines. The award was officially presented at the ACCESS Annual Conference December 1.

The 2021 EDPA EDDIE Award for Best Industrial Hub recognized Hamilton for internal innovation at a time when traditional external events were largely closed. Hamilton has relied on its corporate culture of stepping in and adapting the skills of its professional event staff to create multiple complex Covid-19 mass vaccination events.

Jason Weddle, CEO of Hamilton, said: “To be nominated for this award was most unusual and humiliating as Hamilton had the privilege of being selected to support a high-intensity statewide effort. (Indiana) that saved thousands of lives and kept people out of emergency rooms and hospitals. Given the wide range of weather, logistics and supply issues we faced, we received several positive comments from federal and state officials for doing everything in their power to deliver these life-saving vaccines. “

Hamilton has supported several Indiana mobile and mass vaccination sites at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the University of Notre Dame, Gary (a FEMA site), the IVY Tech campus in Sellersburg and several mobile sites in the ‘Indiana.

Hamilton leveraged the expertise of its staff and long-standing supplier networks to plan and assemble each of the sites. Special tents, command centers, electrical and thermal installations and more have all been erected at each site.

Weddle added, “For each of these sites, our in-depth experience paid off with the extensive deployment of immunization events which, aside from the urgency and its goal of saving lives, in many ways resembled the management traditional high-end events, including setting up tents, rentals, transportation, traffic cones and the manpower needed to direct and control traffic. “
