The family and friends of Kevin Sullivan are pleased to announce the establishment of the Kevin J. Sullivan Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be offered to a graduating student from Westfield High School who incorporates the qualities most important to Kevin: strong character, high integrity and being active in community service.
To honor its longstanding commitment to the Westfield community, the scholarship committee will kick off fundraising activities with “ScholarFest,” taking place Friday, June 24 at 4 p.m. at the Sons of Erin in Westfield. All are invited to attend the event, which will include food trucks, games, raffle prizes and other surprises. More information will be provided in the coming months.
A lifelong resident, Kevin was passionate about serving the Westfield community and had a particular interest in its youth. Elected to three terms on the Westfield school board, he was its vice-president for several years. He was well known in the community as a volunteer who spent countless hours coaching local youth in baseball, soccer, softball and basketball, including the early Westfield Wizards and Westfield Wild. In other services, Kevin has spent many hours volunteering at schools in Westfield and fundraising for the local Boys & Girls Club. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and was an active member of the Sons of Erin.
