Homeless Project Scotland to host free ‘fill your fridge’ event in Glasgow tonight

A downtown soup kitchen is having a “fill your fridge” event tonight.

Homeless Project Scotland will distribute free food and essentials under Hielenman’s Umbrella from 8 p.m. this evening (24 December) in a bid to tackle food waste and help the people of Glasgow.

The team says everyone, regardless of the circumstances, is welcome.

The team hosted a Christmas feast for the city’s homeless on Wednesday with Santa Claus handing out presents – and the big man will be there again tonight giving hot chocolate and gifts to the children.

The charity said: “Glasgow recently hosted COP26 in which one of the ways to stop the effects of climate change. One of the many ways it can ensure that nothing goes to landfill needlessly.
