Man dies after taking part in charity boxing event at city nightclub

A MAN has died after attending a charity boxing night at a Worcester nightclub.

The man died after the Ultra White Collar Boxing event held at the Tramps nightclub on Saturday night (April 9).

Paramedics battled to save the man who suffered “serious injuries” at the scene.

We understand the man collapsed after boxing.

Cancer Research UK, the charity which the event was supporting, offered its deepest condolences to the man’s family.

Simon Ledsham, fundraising director at Cancer Research UK, said: “We send our deepest condolences to the family of the man who tragically died in hospital after taking part in a collar boxing event on Saturday. ultra white where participants raised funds for Cancer Research UK.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones and friends at this time.”

Paramedics attended Tramps nightclub

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 7.46pm to report an incident in Angel Place, Worcester.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic, an Air Ambulance Service intensive care car and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene.

“When we arrived, we found a man who had been seriously injured. He was treated by paramedics at the scene.

“He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further evaluation.”
