MRC-Rotary garage sale and shredding, June 4

ROCKPORT – Spring in Maine means cleaning, garage sales and… shredding. Now you can do all three and support local nonprofits with “Donate It…Buy It…Shred It!” of West Bay Rotary. fundraiser in partnership with Midcoast Recreation Center (MRC) in Rockport.

If you have household items* that are taking up space and you are looking for a good cause, just drop them off at the MRC during opening hours from May 31 to June 3. Then come back to do your own bargain hunting on June 4 ($10 for early birds from 8am-9am; free admission 9am-1pm)

“And don’t forget to bring all those documents you’ve been waiting to shred too,” West Bay said in a press release. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of First National Bank, West Bay Rotary and MRC offer document shredding.

Maximum of five bank boxes per person with a suggested minimum donation of $5 per box. Net proceeds benefit local charities and non-profit organizations.

“It’s a rite of spring to empty the basement and attics here in the Midcoast,” says event coordinator Tom Albertson. “Now you can donate it, buy it, and shred it all in one stop while supporting your local nonprofits. So come to the MRC!

So dust off the cobwebs, pack the cart, and come to the MRC for a “Donate It…Buy It…Shed It!” extravagance.
