According to an update from India Today, alongside the co-founder’s arrest, it was also reported that apart from rigorous grilling and joint interrogation with his friend Arbaaz Merchant, over their alleged ties to peddlers, they (NCB) seized drugs found in shoes and contact lens cases. The NCB also found a link to arrested drug dealer Shreyas Nair. Apparently Shreyas supplied drugs to 25 passengers. The drugs were probably brought by cryptocurrency.
Meanwhile, the NCB has summoned the CEO of the cruise ship for the second time and will question him again in addition to seeking CCTV details and passenger lists. Mumbai police have also launched an investigation against the ship’s officials for failing to get formal permission for the rave party during the cruise. Organizers are reportedly accused of flouting covid standards, failing to pay entertainment tax and also ignoring cyclone warnings in the Arabian Sea.
The anti-drugs agency has so far arrested twelve people, after raiding the ship bound for Goa on Saturday. On Tuesday, another Metropolitan Chief Magistrate, RM Nerlikar, returned Abdul Qadir Sheikh (30), Shreyas Nair (23), Manish Rajgariya (26) and Avin Sahu (30) to NCB custody until October 11.
