Obituary of Paul McKinley Shellnutt (1934 – 2021) – Americus, Georgia

Paul McKinley Shellnutt, Jr., 86, of Americus, died Friday, September 17, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Columbus, born October 3, 1934 to the late Paul and Mary Shellnutt, Sr. He was a member of the National Cattlemen’s Association and Georgia’s National Cattlemen’s Association. He headed the Sumter and Crisp County Livestock Association for many years. Paul also worked at Austin Urethane for years, before retiring on his 80th birthday.
Funeral service will be held at the Rehoboth Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James Beckett and Reverend Robert Orr. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. at 3:00 p.m. The carriers will be Jason Kite, Jeffery Kite, Tom Shellnut, Todd Shellnut, Tim Ware and Slade Chafee. The family will receive friends at the Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Survivors include his 69-year-old wife, Jeanell Kite Shellnut of Americus; son, John Paul Shellnut of Houston, Texas; daughter, Joy Delle Shellnut of Midland; sisters, Joan Peirce of Byron and Patty Newsome of Hatchechubbee, AL.
