The 15th edition YMCA Cycle for Strong Kids cycling event is back on May 29, 2022! It will be an amazing day spent with other caring community members, a bit of a sweat and a whole lot of fun helping those less fortunate.
YMCAs (the Y) biggest fundraising event of the year, and after two years of cancellations, our children and youth need your support more than ever! Cycle for Strong Kids is an incredible opportunity for you to help raise vulnerable, at-risk children and youth to empower them to reach their full potential.
Their goal is to recruit more than 300 cyclists in the community and raise $80,000 together! All you have to do to get involved is donate directly to the cause or join us for register, raise and roll!
“It’s not only contagious with that energy, but it raises awareness and funds to help kids in the community,” says event co-sponsor Grant Delcourt of Delcourt Advisory Group – Scotia Wealth Managementnext to Fresh air.
Offering childcare, before and after school enrichment programs, day camps, water lessons, youth leadership and recreational activities, the Y’s role is crucial in shaping a generation active, confident and resilient children.
When you sign up to ride and raise money for the Y, you’re giving hundreds of low-income children and families an equal chance for mental, mental, and physical health through YMCA programs.
100% of all funds raised at Cycle for Strong Kids will go directly to the local YMCA and keep their doors open for anyone in need. You have the power to pedal to change lives.
How can I get involved?
To help the Y reach its goal of recruiting 300 cyclists and raising $80,000 (maybe even more!), all you need to do is:
To collect funds
Ride for the cause.
Or donate to a runner or directly to the event.
You can ride solo or recruit a team.
To raise funds, share your online fundraising link with your peers and let them know that you are pedaling to provide every child in the Okanagan with equal access to opportunity so they can reach their full potential.
The last step is to ride! On May 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the H20 Adventure + Fitness Center, all cyclists will hop on a bike and pedal to change lives in a 45-minute group bike class. Plus, you can expect great food and drink to refuel and prizes!
Register now to get started and raise as much money as possible for underprivileged children and families in the Okanagan! You have the power to pedal to change lives.
