SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, Va. (WDBJ) — The new “SML Good Neighbors” donation campaign is called “SML Gives.” This is a new online giving event offering nonprofit organizations the opportunity to raise funds, gain exposure, and build relationships.
“SML Gives” is a 24-hour virtual giving campaign that supports 13 different nonprofit organizations in Franklin and Bedford counties.
It’s also an opportunity for the community to come together to raise as much money as possible to make a big impact.
This is the first year of the event, and the organizers are thrilled to be supporting so many different groups who are passionate about serving the community.
“It’s really given where you live. It’s not a huge area. He is here focused on Bedford and Franklin County where these organizations see so much need. There are so many people who are struggling with food insecurity. We have a big problem with stray animals. All these non-profit organizations are working on it. And it’s very focused specifically on that area,” said Lisa Lietz, Executive Director of SML Good Neighbors.
It all starts on March 16 at midnight and will last all day.
