Watch Bono perform “Running To Stand Still” at the annual Dublin event

Bono took part in an annual charity busking event in Dublin last night (December 24), performing U2’s “Running To Stand Still”.

Every Christmas Eve, musicians take to the city’s Grafton Street to perform and raise money for local charities fighting to end homelessness. The event is hosted by Glen Hansard and has been around for a decade.

This year, the fundraising session was unable to take place on the street due to COVID-19 restrictions and was therefore broadcast live from St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin instead. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Simon Community.

Bono performed U2’s “Running To Stand Still” for this year’s stream, supported by guitarists, pianist, drummer and violinist. The track was originally released in 1987 as part of the band’s flagship album “The Joshua Tree”. Watch it below now – Bono’s performance starts around 12:16.

Meanwhile, Bono recently teamed up with Scarlett Johansson for a new take on the classic U2 hit “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”. The Irish musician and Hollywood star have joined forces to record the song together for the film Sing 2.

Johansson plays Ash the Porcupine in the film, while Bono plays a lion rock star named Clay Calloway.

U2 also contributed a new original song to Sing 2official soundtrack from. “Your Song Saved My Life” was on the tracklist alongside hits such as “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince, “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd and “A Sky Full Of Stars” by Coldplay.
